What we collect

  • Customers: phone number (for sign-in and order updates), name, optional email, order history, and loyalty balance - held on behalf of the merchant you order from.
  • Merchants: account details, and the catalog, location, order, and customer data you connect from your point-of-sale provider.

How it's used

To run the storefront: taking and tracking orders, loyalty, reorder shortcuts, and the merchandising features (such as popularity ranking and suggestions) computed from order history. Customer data belongs to the merchant and is used only for that merchant's storefront - it is never sold and never shared across merchants.

Payment data

Card details are entered directly into the payment provider's secure fields and never touch The Usual's servers. Saved cards are stored by the payment provider; we keep only a reference and the last four digits.

Security

Point-of-sale credentials and access tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to merchant data is limited to the merchant's own authorized team.

Messages

Sign-in codes and order updates are sent by SMS. Marketing messages are sent only with opt-in and stop with a STOP reply.

Your choices

Customers can ask the merchant to delete their data. Merchants can export their data (CSV/JSON) from the dashboard at any time. Questions: [CONTACT EMAIL].
